Hi Zoe,
Mo Fanning’s new romcom, Lisa Doyle is Absolutely Fine, is out on 18 June and I think it could work well for summer reading coverage across your titles.
The setup: fed up with being the only one who never brings a plus one, Lisa invents a fake fiance after one too many wines at a family gathering. She calls him Brian, which isn’t the best of starts given her boss at the Manchester theatre where she manages the box office is also called Brian. And his wife Audrey is very scary indeed.
It’s a workplace friends-to-lovers romcom with bite, in the vein of Mhairi McFarlane and Beth O’Leary. Mo has five novels out and won the Page Turner 2025 Best LGBTQ Winner. Romance fiction hit a record £69m in the UK last year, topping even the Fifty Shades peak, and this sits right in the sweet spot of what readers are looking for: warm, funny, character-driven commercial fiction.
Happy to send a review copy in any format. Mo is also available for interview or a piece on the romcom boom and why readers are coming back to funny books.
Best,
Adrian Bedford
