Lisa Doyle is Absolutely Fine Pitch: Saucy Books

Hi Sarah,

I first heard about your fabulous shop from The Bookseller (and a fair number of ever-so-slightly sneery articles elsewhere online). Google being no fan of secrets, tells me you grew up obsessed with Sophie Kinsella and Bridget Jones – and missed school for a signing by the late Sophie. That’s exactly the lineage I’m writing in, so I wanted to put my new novel in front of you.

*Lisa Doyle is Absolutely Fine* is a fake-engagement romcom about a forty-three-year-old woman who, four glasses of wine deep at 1am, announces her engagement on Instagram to a man called Brian. Problem one: Brian is her boss. Problem two: her boss is married, to a woman called Audrey. Problem three: she now needs to produce said fiancé in time for her best friend’s wedding.

It’s for readers of Beth O’Leary, Mhairi McFarlane, and Marian Keyes – the kind of book we press into each other’s hands while saying “read it, youi’ll be glad you did.” Funny on the surface, with an ache underneath.

I’d love to know if you’d consider stocking it. I’m UK-based, can supply through standard wholesale channels, and would be very happy to do an in-store event, an Instagram collab, or a signed-copy run for the shop – I can even tip up with said copies in a Mo Fanning tote bag (they’re very highly prized) or send you a bunch of lovely bookmarks.

The Smut Hut is safe, by the way, Lisa keeps her clothes on… but it’d sit beautifully on a Brit romcom or messy-women table.

Happy to send a review copy if you’d like one. I’ve attached the standard press release with all the usual details you might need.

ISBN: 9781068394713 (Spring Street Books, – out June 18 2026)

All my best,
Mo Fanning
