Hi Nina,
I wanted to flag a novel I think will sit well on your books pages – it’s in the warm commercial comic fiction register Prima readers love, and I think the comparison hook is clean.
Lisa Doyle Is Absolutely Fine by Mo Fanning (Spring Street Books, paperback, ebook and audio, 18 June 2026) is a comedy about a woman who, four glasses into a bottle of wine, invents a fiancé called Brian to keep up with her best friend’s engagement – and then has to talk an actual Brian into standing by her side through the hen weekend, parents’ dinner and finally the wedding itself. Female ensemble cast, midlife setting, sharp on the comparison economy of weddings and the small lies we tell to keep up. For fans of Mhairi McFarlane and Beth O’Leary, with the emotional honesty of Marian Keyes underneath the comedy.
I noticed you championed Lotte Jeffs’s This Love as a Prima Book of the Month – Lisa Doyle sits in that same territory of friendship as the central emotional drive, though Mo’s register is comic rather than literary.
Mo is the author of seven novels and a regular contributor to The Bookseller, BookBrunch, QX Magazine, She Reads and Female First.
On timing – I know I’m later than your ideal lead time for a June pub date, so I’m flagging this for September onwards rather than trying to slip into the summer issues – Mo is already booked onto various lit-fest panels from October onwards. Happy to send a PDF proof straight away, plus press release, author photo and cover artwork on request.
With thanks,
Adrian Bedford
